Last weekend, Christopher and I drove two hours to Asheville, NC to do some adventuring. It was super last minute, and honestly we should have planned a bit better because it was Sunday and a lot was closed! However, what we did do was so much fun and I’m excited to share it with you all.
First things first, the weather was a bit chilly! Luckily though we were prepared and we dressed for the weather. I was able to wear this amazing coat I bought earlier in the week from Vestique (you’ll see it in a sec!), and Christopher was able to wear one of his favorite jackets. Also, the drive wasn’t too terrible. Christopher and I are big Audible.com people, and it totally helped passed the time! We’re reading the You series by Carolina Kepnes, and it’s AMAZING. You need to read it!
One last thing: please plan accordingly if you plan on making a trip to Asheville. I really wanted to browse through some antique shops, but they were all closed. Some stores were also only open seasonally, so there wasn’t much to do.
We started our day at a coffee shop Christopher looked up on the internet, and it was pretty good! It was called High Five Coffee, and we ordered a
After coffee, we browsed through so many cute shops filled with books, baked goods, vinyl records and more! Browsing through bookstores is one of our favorite things to do together, and I’m glad there were so many cute little shops here. We didn’t end up buying anything, but I’ll
Christopher and I are total foodies, and we love trying new things everywhere we go! After walking around for a few hours, we decided to stop for lunch at a place called White Duck Tacos. The menu was very…different. It seemed like there were millions of taco recipes, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but I’m indecisive! We ended up order a few different tacos and shared them so that we can try some of the flavors. The most memorable taco was the banh mi tofu taco, which sounded good (but wasn’t). The taco was oddly cold, like on purpose, and the seasoning was “eh,” but Christopher ate it like a champ! My favorite taco out of the bunch was the steak one (a safe order) and the bean taco (so plain of me). We also ordered queso because why not.
After lunch, we walked to a place called The Chocolate Fetish and also order a few different chocolates. I can’t remember what exactly we ordered, but I do remember that they were delicious!
All in all, our little day trip was so amazing! We’ll definitely be back soon once we figure out when everything starts to open back up. Have you been to Asheville? What did you think? Tell me some of your favorite places to visit below!
