In the past few months here at the University of Florida, I’ve learned quite a bit about the fundamentals of social media management. As a student who was afraid to jump into this field at first, I thought it would benefit others to share my newfound knowledge with those who are just starting to get into the fast-paced world of social media management. Of course, I’m no expert on the ins and outs of social media yet, but I would have liked for someone to give me these tips when I first started my social media journey.
To easily understand and remember the essentials of proper social media management, I have created an infographic containing the 5 most important tips that I believe will help you survive your social media adventure. Social media is a very important and useful resource for your business and/or personal brand. It is the actual key to unlocking your full potential when it comes to advertising and reaching out to current and potential followers.
When starting your social media journey, remember to always be organized and manage your time wisely! To do this, I use apps like @Hootsuite and my trusty Apple Calendar. Write EVERYTHING down in your calendar. Trust me.
Keep track of what times your posts are getting the most engagements, and try to post around that time more often. (For me, it’s the mornings.) And yes, this does make a difference!
Connect with your customers on a day-to-day basis to ensure that you are building a real connection with them, and they will stay loyal.
Lastly, keep building your brand. You’ll be so surprised by how much personal growth you’ll experience when you keep working on your brand consistently!
Social media gives you the potential to make the world see your brand the way you want it to be seen. Take advantage of that!
